Business Resource Center
Empowering small business owners through intuitive design and accessible education
Role: Brand Designer · Web and UX Designer · Marketing Strategist · Project Manager · Copywriter
Tools: Adobe Suite · WordPress · Canva
Overview
The Business Resource Center was designed to support small business policyholders with educational tools and services that help protect their business while saving time and money. I led the rebranding and full website redesign, focusing on improved usability, scalability, and brand clarity. Additionally, I acted as marketing strategist, planning and executing campaigns to increase engagement and usership.
Challenges
Broad user audience across multiple industries
Difficulty navigating and finding relevant content
Site structure did not support content growth or updates
Solutions and Deliverables
Brand Refresh for Energy & Relatability
Updated the logo, expanded the color palette, and introduced custom people-focused illustrations to bring warmth to the experience and reflect the diversity of small business owners. This created a more modern, inviting visual identity that could scale over time.
Intuitive UX & Navigation Improvements
Reworked site architecture to help users find answers faster. Key enhancements included:
A mega-menu for clearer paths to resources
A search bar for people to access content through terms
Replacing the generic “Services” section with business-challenge-based accordions, each linking to the most relevant resources
From Static PDFs to Dynamic Digital Content
Industry Guides were originally static PDFs listing tools and services. In the redesign, I transitioned these into dynamic webpages that surface articles, resources, and service listings through industry-specific subtopics.
To improve shareability and analytics tracking, we introduced a blog to host educational content. I created multiple blog and webinar image styles to bring content to life and strengthen visual consistency across topics.
Educational Email Campaigns
Beyond design, I led campaign strategy — planning, writing and designing email marketing to promote articles, tools, videos, and event content. Campaigns were tailored to help policyholders better understand risk mitigation and take advantage of available resources.
